01Abstract
Over 100 years, Korean women grew taller by 20.2 cm, the biggest gain for women in the world. Korean men grew 15.2 cm taller.
02Method
Researchers used 1,472 studies with over 18.6 million people in 200 countries. They used only measured heights, not heights people reported themselves.
03Findings
Korean men and women are now taller than Japanese men and women. Growth for Korean men started to level off with those born in the 1980s. Dutch men born in 1996 are the tallest, at 182.5 cm on average.
04Limitations
It compares people born in 1896 and 1996 at age 18. It does not follow the same people for 100 years.
